In his famous play, Molière describes the relationship between a self-pitying hypochondriac and his greedy doctors as a mutually beneficial symbiosis. He dedicates the piece to the Sun King, who was actually cruelly cured to death with enemas by so-called healers. Molière, on the other hand, who was on stage in the title role, succumbed to a fatal hemorrhage during the fourth performance - as if a higher authority had written this punchline.
In their rewrite, Barbara Sommer and Plinio Bachmann update the piece into a top of hypersensitivity - a competition for the dubious honor of being the most vulnerable.
