The right to a self-determined life always brings with it the question of the right to a self-determined death. After long debates, according to a ruling by the Constitutional Court in Vienna in December 2020, it is unconstitutional to ban any form of assistance with suicide without exception. The Austrian government has until 2022 to legally regulate euthanasia.

Until then, questions must be discussed such as: What is a human life worth in our society? What degree of self-determination and external determination is an individual confronted with? What rights and responsibilities does being thrown into this life entail?

After his successful play Terror with God, Ferdinand von Schirach presents a new negotiation drama. The question of absolute human autonomy is examined from an ethical, political and religious perspective, and in the end it is up to the audience to make a decision on the outcome of the negotiation by voting.
