Marianne Mendt »Jubiläumskonzert zum 80. Geburtstag« Konzerthaus Big Hall - Wien Sat 01.Nov 2025 19:30 replace me !Marianne Mendt, Austria's top all-round entertainer, likes to keep her superlatives to herself. "I'm basically just a musician," she usually says, adding, "A passionate musician and singer." And she's done so at the highest artistic level for decades. Mendt, as she is affectionately and respectfully called by her fellow countrymen, literally ushered in the dialect wave in Austria in the early 1970s with a hit song, "Glock'n." She played numerous musical roles, indulged her passion for jazz and swing, was equally passionate about supporting young jazz musicians in the country, and served as artistic director of her own jazz festival for many years. Aside from her numerous appearances in theater, film, and television productions, as well as her role as tobacconist Gitti Schimek in the legendary Kaisermühlen Blues, she is, as she always likes to emphasize, "primarily about music."
All about the 80s: Hits, nostalgic "momendts," and equally musical guests
The celebration will take place on stage – and in Vienna with a big band. Standards will be heard alongside the big hits. These will include nostalgic "momendts," as well as guests. A colorful array of memories, autobiographical material will be the common thread. Mendt adds: "I've been a musician since I was twelve. So there will be a lot to tell."
And that's something to look forward to!
Marianne Mendt, that's almost eighty years of Austrian music and entertainment history, can be seen and heard live on November 1, 2025, at the Vienna Konzerthaus. A fixture in the event calendar for the coming year!
