    A Frenchwoman with strong connections in Vienna: years of study as a conductor, experience with the Arnold Schoenberg Choir, and encounters with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Today, Ariane Matiakh is Chief Conductor of the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen, a recipient of numerous awards and on the verge of a global career. Her luggage for the Vienna tour includes not only Brahms and Schumann, but also the rousing Overture for Orchestra by the Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz! Young star on the cello: Lionel Martin.
