In a premiere, Jan Lauwers, Kate Lindsey and Needcompany bring the life and world of one of the most remarkable artistic personalities of the 20th century to the opera stage at the NEST: Lee Miller.
The opera is a portrait of this woman who, at the end of her life, said she felt like a cow that had been milked dry.
The American was a photographer, top model in New York, surrealist in Paris and war correspondent for the US Army in World War II. What was a woman like who stood in the shadow of many men? Thus, the portrait is not just that of Lee, but of so many women throughout the history of art who have been gagged.
