Balkanroute (concertante) Theater an der Wien Mon 27.Jan 2025 19:00 replace me !The “Balkan route” is the escape route of the desperate from East to West, which runs through the scene of bloody wars in Europe just 20 years ago and which tells an endless story of human suffering. For Christina Pluhar and her ensemble L’Arpeggiata, the Balkan route also represents the history of a fascinating cultural and musical journey. Touched and shaken by the humanitarian tragedy of the refugee crisis, L’Arpeggiata would like to dedicate its new program to refugees and let the Balkan route sound musically. The program tells the story of a rich musical culture: from Turkey to the islands of Greece, from Bulgaria via Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia to (once Venetian) Dalmatia. With guests such as the Bosnian singer Nataša Mirković, the Bulgarian grandmasters Petar Ralchev (accordion) and Peyo Peev (gadulka) and the Greek singer Katerina Papadopoulou, L’Arpeggiata discovers a different story of the Balkans that testifies to cultural solidarity and inspiring musical encounters.
