Some works will never let go of their creators until the end of their lives. One such case is The Triumph of Time and Truth, whose original Italian-language version was written by George Frideric Handel for Rome in 1707. Exactly 50 years later, a few years before his death, he turned to the material again. In 1757 the composer had received a new commission for London, but since he was already almost blind at that time, he resorted to an existing composition and adapted it to relieve the burden. After interpreting the original Italian version Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno at the MusikTheater an der Wien in the 2023/24 season, Rubén Dubrovsky and his Bach Consort Vienna are returning with the new English-language version and further exploring the Handel universe.
