On this evening, Adi Hirschal and Wolfgang Böck will present the connections between the traditional "folk song", the "Viennese song" and popular "pop culture".
Where do "Strizzilieder" fit in? Certainly not in the academy! Rather, in the hundreds of hours of stage work that the two have put together over the past 30 years. In keeping with their self-image, the two develop a number of theories about how, for example, the "major" folk song turned into the "minor" Viennese song, and with "The Burning Hearts" (Arnulf Lindner, Dieter Kolbeck, Lenny Dickson) the two explore all the possibilities of adaptation....of course always including the greatest possible entertainment...
