    Lotfullah fled alone to Austria in 2015 as a 15-year-old. In 2016 he appeared for the first time in the vestibule of the Burgtheater and then played with the theater group SPIGL at theater festivals, in parking lots, in the circus tent and at wine taverns. Now, in 2025, he talks about himself – again in the vestibule.

    This is not a refugee story, this is a Kafkaesque story about bureaucracy. A story of incomprehensible official language, of violence, of the value of citizenship and of Lotfullah's remarkable endurance, charm and humor. A story about the power of institutions and the power of human relationships.
