    The opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi, based on the theater by Gutiérrez, premiered in 1853. The count of Aragon accuses a gypsy of bewitching her son Luna and therefore burns her on the stake. The gypsy’s daughter seeks revenge and abducts the county’s second son Luna.
