At the center of the plot is Chloe, the wife of a lawyer who senses the chance of becoming a judge at the Court of Appeal. The necessary support must be gained from influential acquaintances at glamorous cocktail parties. Chloe juggles charm, sophistication and sensuality to steer her husband's career in the right direction. However, she soon finds herself in the middle of a quagmire of power and intrigue. How far will she go to pave Tom's path into politics?

This highly exciting chamber play was written by the successful screenwriter Beau Willimon. With House of Cards, a political thriller series about the machinations in the White House, he thrilled an audience of millions. Willimon likes to incorporate his own experiences into his work. His time as a Democratic campaign worker inspired him to write his play Farragut North, which he later adapted as a screenplay for the feature film Days of Treason (2011, directed by George Clooney).
