Édouard Louis is one of the most influential authors in France. His childhood was marked by poverty and violence. But he cannot leave it completely behind him; it is the central theme of his writing.
After the global bestsellers, for example about his childhood in THE END OF EDDY and his liberation from his father in WHO KILLED MY FATHER, his fifth book is now being published in German:
MONIQUE BREAKS OUT. It is a sensitive and tender portrait of a mother who fights for her self-determination and a son who allies himself with her.

The conversation with Édouard Louis about his latest book, about origins, literature, liberation, family and structural problems such as inequality and poverty is conducted by the author Gabriel Proedl, excerpts from the book are read by Markus Meyer.
